Wish tree

Members of the student council decorated the Christmas tree in the Administration Centre with wishes from students this week. The activity started last week when members of the council dressed up as Sinterklaas and Santa Claus and went round student flats and canteens asking students to write down their wishes for a better university. The wishes were varied, ranging from better canteens to getting rid of problem-based learning, and from better integration to good work stations for students writing their theses (A computer would be handy!). There was even one wish for making courses heavier: ‘More difficult exams!!! I’m not encouraged to learn here.’ On Friday 17 December Rector Professor Bert Speelman will select a number of wishes from the tree and hand out prizes, including memory sticks. / JH
