Water pact

At the beginning of February, Wageningen signed a memorandum of understanding with the CGIAR International Water Management Institute. Wageningen researchers will contribute to the ‘Comprehensive Assessment of Water Management in Agriculture’. This is a worldwide survey of knowledge on investments in water management for agriculture in the last fifty years, and is intended to form the basis for better water policy in future. About a thousand scientists are involved worldwide, and twenty-five Wageningen researchers have already said they will contribute. Wageningen UR and IWMI also want to set up a research programme in which PhD researchers and MSc students are jointly financed and supervised. / JT
