Wageningen research best in the land
Wageningen harbours the best scientists in the Netherlands. A review of Dutch universities by the weekly news magazine Elsevier shows that researchers at the universities of Wageningen and Rotterdam are the most cited in international reviewed papers. Elsevier counted the number of publications per university on the list of the highest ten percent of the most cited articles worldwide.Wageningen published 893 high quality articles between 1991 and 1996.
Wageningen is especially good at life sciences. It scores as the best university in the Netherlands for biology, food- and agricultural sciences and environmental sciences. Food scientist Professor Martijn Katan is the most cited Wageningen researcher. According to Elsevier he ranks among the top twenty Dutch scientists.
