Wageningen UR tightens Sars measures

Wageningen UR has recalled all personnel from all areas affected by Sars
and has forbidden employees to travel to these areas. Planned visits to
Wageningen by delegates from affected countries have also been postponed.

As a result of developments in the spread of the virulent form of
pneumonia, Sars, the Executive Board of Wagenignen UR announced stricter
measures on 9 April. Those returning from affected areas (China, Vietnam
and Singapore) are requested to contact the student doctor André
Godkewitsch or company doctor, Ron Langens, and follow instructions.

Measures for international students arriving from affected countries have
yet to be announced, but an information meeting is being organised for
members of staff who are concerned with receiving new students. Wageningen
UR spokesman Simon Vink stressed that the measures are precautionary and
there is no reason for panic at present. A memo has been sent to all
departments. | S.O.
