More than a thousand students and employees have signed a petition in the last few weeks for a more sustainable university.
‘We’ve collected exactly one thousand and one signatures,’ said Petra Rietberg of the Wageningen Student Organisation (WSO). Members of the student union and student fraction PSF went round canteens during breaks to persuade eaters to sign in favour of policy changes, including use of green electricity and fair-trade coffee. The group will present the signatures to Rector Martin Kropff, at midday on Friday 16 March in the big lecture theatre in the Leeuwenborch.
