Supporters gathered in Houten near Utrecht on Sunday 6 April to watch the finish of the Varsity rowing race on the Amsterdam-Rijn Canal. It’s the most important student rowing event of the year, but equally important, it’s an opportunity to sing club songs and drink beer.

While the wintry sun made the activities all the more enjoyable than the predicted snow, the ground was soggy enough for the supporters from the rival clubs to be able to pelt each other with mud and straw. Unfortunately the Wageningen Argo team failed to get through to the final, which was won by the Rotterdam team Skadi. The men from the Ceres-Argo house H6 also failed to achieve their goal this year: they only came fifth instead of sixth.
