Teething troubles

The new VoIP phone system is still not running optimally. Many students have experienced problems with the Internet connection. According to Lenny Putman, who lives in the Haarweg, it’s impossible to phone if you have an msn chat line open on the computer at the same time, and sometimes her connection is cut off in the middle of the phone call. She describes the quality of the line as about the same as ‘using a mobile phone while cycling under a bridge’. According to Tell Me, some of the problems are due to the broadband connection not being properly set up for sending speech and data messages at the same time. Network operator Vocalis is aware of the problems and is working on them. Vocalis has also said that no subscription charges will be made for the first half of January.
