The Catholic student association in Wageningen KSV is planning on setting
up an international sister association. Starting in September,
international students will be able to make use of the basement bar Utopia
on Friday evenings. But KSV wants to offer more than just use of space -
activities intended to promote integration with Dutch members are also on
the agenda.

KSV president Johanna Bouma and treasurer Pieter van Midwoud have noticed
that many of their members are interested in more contact with the growing
international student community, but still want the association to retain
its own identity. According Van Midwoud there is probably little desire
among international students to become a member of a typically Dutch
student fraternity. “Generally speaking the international students are only
in Wageningen for a short time, and are not really interested in the
traditions associated with KSV. I would imagine that our induction
programme would not appeal to international students,
