For those who happened to walk along the dyke and may have wondered what
was going on in the field behind the old swimming pool last Saturday: the
Surinam Club Redi Doti held a street party as part of their fortieth
anniversary. On offer was a wide programme featuring music, dance and
activities for children. The weather was good and at its peak an estimated
two hundred people including many children enjoyed the acts, drinks, food
and each other’s company. DJ and student at the Fish Culture and Fisheries
group, Stokely Lenz played records between the acts. “It’s good to organise
something with and for the neighbourhood. Although there are never
