Prize for graduate

The Wageningen alumnus Dr Charudutt Mishra received the prestigious Whitley Award from the British Princess Royal. The Whitley Award is one of the most important prizes for nature conservationists. Mishra was awarded the prize, worth sixty thousand pounds (about 88 thousand euros) for his efforts to protect the snow leopard in the Himalayas. The Indian set up an organisation that works to protect the habitat of the snow leopard in various places in India. Charudutt Mishra received his PhD in Wageningen in 2001. His supervisor was Professor Herbert Prins. / KV
