Partying for a good cause
Ceres, KSV, Unitas and SSR-W have raised almost 1300 euros for a good cause by jointly holding a charity party on Tuesday.

The proceeds of the annual Contractus party will be given to Serious Request. This is a partnership between 3FM and the Dutch Red Cross. Three deejays will shut themselves up in a 'Glass House' during the week before Christmas and play songs on request to raise funds. On an empty stomach! This year, the house will be located in Leiden from 18 December, but the Wageningen student societies held their party in advance.
The proceeds of the party are for mothers who, because of war, have to singlehandedly care for their families. The entrance fee of 2.50 euros brought in 600 euros. In addition, 50 cents from every beer sold was for charity. A total of 1281.50 euros was raised, which pointed to an average consumption of 5 or 6 beers per person.
As soon as the Glass House is occupied, the representatives of Contractus will go there to hand over the money, 'all together, if possible', says Mies van Aar, the president of Unitas.
