Not that quiet in the holidays

Summer vacation, deserted work places, you can't reach anyone.

Most of our colleagues are somewhere else. And yet it's not that bad, if the number of visits to the intranet is anything to go by. Whoever logs in on his WUR account will automatically have intranet as his home page. And in the quietest week in July, there were still more than four thousand people, the week when most people are away. The first two weeks of August did not do badly either, showing that at least half of the total number of employees were present as usual. So, it hadn't been that quiet. Taking turns to go on holiday is the major explanation for this. The intranet figures also nicely show the changes in employees' attendance throughout the week. Friday is the favourite day-off, when a third less people work than on Monday.
