Wageningen UR did not have any accounts with the DSB bank, Noud Hermse of Finance and Control assures us.
'That bank did not have a single rating (which is a kind of safety certificate). There is no way we would put our money there in that case.' Hermse says all the bank accounts are reviewed every three months so that they can identify any risks in good time. Wageningen UR had withdrawn all its cash from Icelandic banks months before the banking crisis hit. 'That shows what an alert treasury policy we have', says Hermse. /Rik Nijland
