New website

Scientists from abroad who are considering spending time in the Netherlands can now find information on the new website www.eracareers.nl. The website is part of a European network, and is supported by a number of organisations including the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU). Knowledge workers can post their CVs on the Eracareer site, and also browse the vacancies on offer for scientists and researchers. There is also information on grants available for the Netherlands, areas of research specialisation and how to contact the mobility centres. The site also contains practical information on visa applications and bringing family members to the Netherlands. The site was constructed to make the Dutch research market more attractive and more accessible to foreigners. The people from the baby boom generation in the Netherlands will be coming to the end of their careers fairly soon, and this will lead to gaps in the Dutch research world if support from outside is not forthcoming, according to a report published this week by Nuffic. / HOP
