New name for merged institute

Central Veterinary Institute will probably be the new name of the organisation to be formed as a result of the merger between the Central Institute for Animal Disease Control (CIDC-Lelystad) and the Infectious Diseases Division of the Animal Sciences Group (ASG).

André Bianchi, at present director of CIDC-Lelystad, will head the new institute. The announcement was made last week at a meeting for employees of both organisations. The new institute will come under ASG. The merger should be completed by 1 January next year.
