Professor Erik van der Linden is to be the new director of the Sensory and Structure programme, one of the three main programmes at the Top Institute Food and Nutrition (TIFN).
Van der Linden takes over on 1 September; his predecessor Rob Hamer left last December. TIFN collaborates with universities and companies on innovative research in the field of nutrition. Van der Linden will also continue in his post as professor at the Food Physics Chair group at Wageningen UR. TIFN's general director Jan Maat says Van der Linden is the right man for the job due to his experience in the business world and at the University of Leiden. 'Erik can help TIFN to progress by uniting industrial relevance with scientific excellence', says Maat.
