I just read the column Typical Dutch in the last Resource issue. I have a different story. I once had a bike accident.
I got rescued by three Dutch people, One was on a bike behind me. The guy picked me from the ground. I was bleeding and he took me to a nearby family. They received me into their home and washed my wounds. Another guy in a car had seen me falling and he followed us into the house. They decided that I was bleeding too much. The guy in the car took me directly to the hospital, took care of everything (you know the insurance matters in The Netherlands) and made me see the doctor. These people were the perfect Samaritans. Maybe Sachin met the wrong people on a wrong day. Dutch people are very helpful. Brigitte Uwimana
