Lawsuit concerning Spelderholt closure

Text:
Astrid Smit

The Animal Sciences Group Employees' Council has turned to the Enterprise Section of the court in Amsterdam to stop the closure of the poultry experimental farm Spelderholt.

The council does not agree with the arguments for the closure. 'The new accommodation rates have suddenly turned the experimental farm into a loss-making venture, even though the building has been paid for in full by the province and the ministry', says Employees' Council secretary Henk Stormink. The Employees'' Council also thinks it is unfair that the experimental accommodation Schothorst is taking over tasks without giving staff the opportunity to transfer too. The Enterprise Section is dealing with the case on 7 July.
