Joop Schaminée is not really a gloomy chap at all. But he does love film noir. 'The cynicism and pessimism of the genre. The way it magnifies human failings. The petty crime, the femme fatale, the melancholy. That is interesting.' He has a collection of more than 700 films. Black and white. And just black. With Hitchcock as the absolute master. In his honour, a pastiche of the all-time classic Rear Window.
