International students again being housed in holiday camp

The University has once again reserved holiday chalets at Landal GreenParks in Hoenderloo as accommodation for international students in the coming academic year.

Wageningen University thinks 300 international students will have to be housed temporarily in the holiday camp, says spokesperson Simon Vink.
The University has been renting holiday chalets in Hoenderloo since 2008. These holiday chalets, located 30 kilometres from Wageningen, are needed to accommodate the peak in the numbers of international students. That will be greater in the coming academic year than last year as the number of international students is growing. On top of that, the new temporary accommodation for international students on Haarweg road has run into delays because of the objection lodged by student accommodation provider Idealis to the planned building.
In the meanwhile, the University is still looking for 100 temporary rooms for international students in and around Wageningen. 'There is more in the pipeline', says Vink.
