ISOW elects new Board

Five new board members were elected in mid-January to take over the running of the International Students Organisation of Wageningen (ISOW). Three weeks into the job, members Vineet Shankar (from India) and Judit Szonyi (from Hungary) are starting to get the hang of it. Shankar chairs the group: I hadn't thought that I'd join any committee when I came to Wageningen, but I found it so enjoyable working for the ISOW, it just happened. Szonyi, the vice-chair, has been in Wageningen on and off since 1997, and has seen the ISOW develop almost from the start: I've been involved with it so long, I'm almost an honorary member. Besides maintaining the social activities like dance nights, a weekly movie and parties once a month, the new board is now thinking about new ideas. Szonyi already has a good one: I'd like to create a place where people can come together to play music together, maybe eventually form a tea-house and give informal performances. Am.S
