Home match

This year's Dutch students' cross-country championships on Saturday 12 January were not a series of battles through the mud but sunlit runs with a few steep climbs in the forest near Hoekelum castle in Bennekom.

Tartl├ętos came through with flying colours. The Wageningen students athletics organization was co-organizer of the event and three of the four winners came from the club. Marlou Bijlsma was the fastest woman in the 3.4 kilometres race. Much to her own surprise, Jora Steenis won the long cross-country, while Arend Mulder carried the day in the 10 kilometres. He left the rest of the field far behind in the first round, and the gap only grew from there.
