Fifteen students proudly presented the first of the geraniums they have grown themselves on Thursday 19 April.
They are first-year students doing Agri Systems Management and Regional Development and Innovation at Van Hall Larenstein, and growing and selling the plants is part of their course. They plan to donate the money they earn to a school for poor children in Bangladesh. The geraniums are on sale at the VHL building on the Mansholtlaan in Wageningen, but the students are also going to sell them door-to-door in the student flats. In the Netherlands geraniums are regarded as a plant for old people, but the students think that they have a good chance of becoming trendy in Wageningen.
