Henry + mouse

'I really get a kick out of a nice, well-built mouse'

Henry van Raaij, onderzoeksassistent PRI
He got his first mouse from his father when he was ten. Now Henry van Raaij, PRI research assistant, has about 350 of the beasts running around in the shed at the back of his house in Nijmegen. In a range of colours, because that's what it is all about: breeding coloured mice. Silver-grey, red, black, white and all intermediate shades. Great, but why mice? 'They are really funny, curious creatures. They are always busy. And they reproduce very quickly. I can't imagine what it would be like to breed horses!' The crowning glory of the current collection: a Siamese pair. Like the cat, only in mouse form.
