Hans Smid, senior researcher at the Laboratory of Entomology: 'You can easily steer insects'

It is a kind of portrait photography really, says Hans Smid. Just very small-scale. Smid snaps insects, preferably at home in the studio. 'I want to get photographs in which they show their natural behaviour. I get this to happen by luring them appropriately. By distracting them, for instance, or by giving them food.
