Handicapped happy

It is not only regular students who voted Wageningen University the best in the country. According to the Guidebook to Higher Education, those with a handicap are also satisfied with the university. They gave Wageningen a score of 7.2, while Eindhoven came bottom of the list with 5.7. Handicapped students are not only those in wheelchairs. Half of those classified as having a disability have dyslexia (reading problems) or dyscalculia (mathematical disability). A fifth have psychological problems or a chronic disease, and sometimes run into problems when they are regarded as lazy or stupid. At the University of Twente the staff show the most understanding for this group of students, scoring 7.6. In Amsterdam they are less understanding, and only scored 5.6. / HOP
