Grief at death of first year student

First year student Daan Korstanje died in his bed last night in Wageningen. The cause of death is thought to have been heart failure. Korstanje had been studying Biotechnology in Wageningen since last September, and had a room there.

At Ceres student society, of which he was a member, there was great consternation at the news. Ceres president Emke van Wijlen: 'This is a big loss for our society. He had not been a member for long, but this really is a big shock for everybody.' Ceres will stay open today to inform members and give them a chance to talk about the loss of Daan. Then the society will close until after the funeral. All activities are cancelled, including the open party planned for this evening.
