Good wind year

The 26 Wageningen UR windmills in Flevoland have had a good wind year. Spread over three wind parks, the windmills produced a total of 77 million kilowatt hours in 2007.

This is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 22 thousand households. This wind-generated electricity has meant 43,990 tons less of CO2 emissions, the Animal Sciences Group reports in its newsletter. The wind parks are run by Wageningen Business Generator, which uses part of the returns to stimulate knowledge-intensive business initiatives.
