What do you want to protect against climate change? Write it in green paint on the palm of your hand, and we’ll take a photo of it. Last week’s action by HappyJMA and the Wageningen Environment Platform (WEP) at the Forum was as simple as that.

GreenFinger is an international initiative to urge world leaders to take the battle against climate change seriously. The photos are being collected on There are already more than 2600 photos. At the Forum, a few dozen Wageningen students took the trouble to paint their palms. They want to protect things like forests, flowers, smells and food. And one student kept it very close to home: ‘my newborn nephew’.
