Frozen flash mob in Leeuwarden

Time seemed to stand still when well over thirty students froze like statues in the canteen of Van Hall Larenstein in Leeuwarden on Wednesday afternoon at quarter past three.

People attending the ceremony to confer certificates for successful completion of the first year (known as the propedeuse in Dutch) formed an audience. The one-minute 'frozen flash mob' was followed by a dance to 'Do you love me (now that I can dance)', by The Contours.
The flash mob dance was the brainchild of Maaike Windey, student of Animal Management. 'It was a sudden inspiration and before I knew it, I had already sent an email announcing it to the students. It was really only meant to be a joke and a nice sideshow for the propedeuse ceremony.'
