Foreign students show more interest in standing for election

The student councillors are surprised and pleased by the interest foreign students are showing in joining the council next year.

‘’It would be exaggerated to call the reaction overwhelming,’’ says Jos Käfer of the Progressive Student Party (PSF), but international students seem to like the progressive party more then the others, if we are to believe the information from the student parties themselves. PSF said there are six international students who have shown interest in becoming a PSF councillor next academic year. VeSte (United Students) and CSF (Christian Student Party) have both received three e-mails from interested students. Bob Douma of the CSF says it is quite hard for them to find international students because they are looking for people who at least stand for Christian norms and values. However Douma is happy that have already been some reactions from foreign students interested in standing for elections within his party. |G.v.H.
