Employees of Alterra had to stop working for a short time on Monday morning due to a small fire on the roof of the Lumen building. The fire started as workers were making repairs to the roof. Isolation material caught fire and caused a large plume of smoke and a bad smell. The Lumen building had to be evacuated and the fire department was called in as burning material became lodged between the walls. The fire was put out by the in-house emergency service even before the fire fighters arrived. Thanks to the quick response of the in-house emergency service, very little damage was caused. / MW
