Few applications for new bachelor’s

So far the interest shown in the new bachelor’s degrees in social sciences is limited.

The new degree programmes are intended to attract more undergraduate students to Wageningen, but so far there have only been twelve applications in total. Health and Society has attracted the most so far, with eight applicants. Economy and Policy, and Applied Communication Science have each had two applications. Dr Rien Komen, unofficial chair of the New Bachelor’s working group describes this as disappointing, but adds that this is probably due to the fact that the new degree programmes have not yet received official recognition, and it is therefore not certain whether they will start next academic year.
