The department of education support is developing a database containing the
experiences of lecturers in teaching students of different cultures. Those
involved in education at the university can access this source of
information on the intranet. In the coming academic year they will also be
able to follow a course on intercultural communication.

As the trend of increasing numbers of international students seems set to
continue, the university is starting to realise that lecturing to groups
composed of people from different cultures is not always plain sailing.
According to Jan Steen of the department of Education Support, a course on
intercultural communication can help, even though there has not been much
