VHL is offering students from outside the EU a discount of 3500 euro on course fees, which would otherwise amount to 8700 euro.
'Ours were by far the most expensive applied science courses. We hope with this discount that good students will not be put off any more', says administrative officer Ben Schulte. Courses used to be fully subsidized for non-EU students. The government has withdrawn this privilege and instead is offering universities of the applied sciences compensation for the time being. The discount is coming out of this money. It is not known how many students have taken up the offer. /Stijn van Gils
