The demolition of the convent on the Larenstein country estate in Velp is actually happening.
A demolition crane started taking down the walls of the old building this week. The demolition work was delayed by several months because of problems obtaining the permit. They also found more asbestos in the building than had been estimated beforehand. Demolition of the convent was originally scheduled for August. It is not yet clear what will come in the convent's place. The Van Hall Larenstein directors want to develop the country estate into a ‘knowledge estate'. LvdN
