A grand total of zero students have submitted a proposal for how to fill the vacant plot following the demolition of the convent on the Larenstein country estate in Velp. Van Hall Larenstein set up a competition for students at the end of September but the jury has not received a single submission, to their great amazement and disappointment. Jury chair Marianne van Lidth de Jeude thinks the conditions were too stringent. Every submission had to be a co-production involving students from different disciplines. 'But students doing different degrees don't know each other and aren't going to take that risk.' Now VHL wants to repeat the competition but with different conditions.
