CAMPUS STILL TOO SOGGY

Wageningen campus is still getting waterlogged. Some of the problems were solved last autumn, but not all, admits park manager Albert Olde Daalhuis.

The drainage problem was visible again last Friday when the footpath between the Forum and the Atlas building was impassable. It is not clear what can be done about it. When there is surface water nearby, a drainage pipeline is an option. This is what was done in several places but it won’t work for the footpath, says Olde Daalhuis.

Olde Daalhuis thinks last Friday’s problems might have been due to the hard frosty ground keeping the water on the surface.
