Bruckner elected MSc student of the year

To his great surprise Nicolas Avila Bruckner was elected MSc student of the year. He was presented with the award at the MSc graduation ceremony, 17 March in the Aula.

Bruckner, who comes from Bolivia and did a masters in Food Technology, was chosen for his contribution to the integration of Dutch and international students and because of his involvement in KSV-international. He was totally surprised and confused by the award. ‘I don’t think I’ve worked harder than others. I just had some extra free time when I arrived in Wageningen. After I met some nice people during the first activity of KSV International I decided to join.’ Gradually he got more involved. ‘KSV International gave me the opportunity to get more involved in different cultures, in aspects like food, history, tradition and politics. You easily get to know more about the Dutch. I also got the opportunity to do new things.’ Bruckner thinks that the issue of integration is still important. ‘But the focus should be more on how to do so.’ / YdH
