Board excludes students from merger talks
The Executive Board does not want students in the Education Council and
Consultative Group that will shape the educational content of the
cooperation between Van Hall, Larenstein and Wageningen UR.
This was announced in a letter from the board to the Representative Council
of the University. The board sees no reason to include students in the
bodies involved in shaping the collaboration, as it claims there are
already enough opportunities through the Student Council, the Educational
institutes and Course committees. Rudy Jonker of the Student organisation
VeSte finds this an odd move: “In the business plan it says that it is in
the Education Council that matters will be discussed that are not dealt
with by other university councils.
