In Paul Richards' letter on page 11 in Wb 11 the Wb editor omitted an important line. The end of the letter should have read: A recent Europe-wide study found that 35 percent of all persons interviewed would trust information about genetically-modified foods from environmental campaigning organizations. But only twelve percent of the sample felt they could trust business-based pronouncements on food safety. As few as one percent felt they could trust business-based pronouncements on food safety. As Wageningen evolves from university to science park and business school, will our trustworthiness with the general public be further undermined?
