African medals

Dr Frans Breteler of the Biosystematics group, Dr Roel Lemmens of Prota (Plant Resources of Tropical Africa) and Tropical forest ecology Professor Frans Bongers have received awards from the Minister of Scientific Research in Ivory Coast.

The scientists are now ‘Officier dans l’Ordre du Mérite de l’Education Nationale’. They were decorated in appreciation of their work as directors of the EU financed Ecosyn and Ecodes projects on biodiversity, and plant and forest management in West Africa. / HB
