Advance applications up

Wageningen University has had about 50 percent more applications in the last month than it had this time last year.

This is by far the biggest growth among the Dutch universities. At the end of January 2006, Wageningen had received 154 advance applications from prospective students; this year the figure is 226, according to data from the Informatie Beheer Groep in Groningen. Advance applications are up for nearly all Wageningen degree programmes: Animal Sciences, Nutrition and Health, Biology, and International Land and Water Management are at the top. Lowest on the list is Forestry and Nature Conservation, with only three applications, ten fewer than last year.
