A&F developments

The A&F works council has given the go-ahead to reorganisation of the business two units Quality in Chains and Agrisystems and Environment. Plans earlier this year to disband the A&F research institute, spreading part over the university and transferring Food Quality to Nizo research institute in Ede, met with resistance among staff. In the plan that has now been approved, A&E will be spread over the Plant and Animal Sciences Groups. The plan to bring other business units under the university and part to an external party has been abandoned. The rest of A&F will continue as an independent research institute. The reorganisation will cost 25 employees their jobs. They get fifteen months to seek another position; if not successful compulsory redundancy will follow. The future of the Food Quality unit is not yet clear. / KV
