Blogger Kaavya Raveendran is still a student, but has no exams this year – just her thesis and internship. Because she hates exams, she should be totally relaxed now...

While going for my spontaneous walks around the neighbourhood, I always wonder how much more refreshing and relaxing the same walk would have been if I wouldn’t be so stressed. Stress has become a default setting of our lives! Most of the time we don’t even notice its existence, and on other occasions, we all are creative enough to find excuses to be stressed.
Having said all this, I identified a major chunk of stress is owed by the infamous EXAMS.
Now, what if a girl had no exams? A question that has been asked by every student ever. As a student we all think that if exams were never invented, life would be way easier, just like when we were toddlers. Being in the second year of my masters now helps me see the same image but at a different angle.
First of all, I would like to just take a moment here to appreciate this unique position of life, when you’re technically still a student but have no exams. Amazing, right? With my life wrapped around thesis and Internship it sure is a much nicer ride to attaining my degree instead of slogging and stressing to pass those dreadful hours of scribbling on answer sheets.
Coming to the point: exams were a major cause of stress in my life a year back, but they were also the only source of closure and break. It feels like you are on a road trip and every time you reach a beautiful destination you stop and enjoy the view. Just like that, after each exam season you stop and enjoy the short lived break. This is what I miss now, in my second year, where I have no exam to really demarcate my student life.
Ride with no stops
Your thesis and internship is a continuous ride with no stops: this car stops only at the final destination. So you hustle every day, making progress one step at a time. This way you really get no break and your stress piles on in an unnoticed manner. And just after your final presentation is over, your stress evaporates away leaving you at ease again (or so you think).
So in all, whether exams or no exams, stress prevails.
PS: But secretly, I still prefer the one without exams.
