Funding Agency Pays a Visit
On March 17th, the Swedish based nongovernmental funding organization, International Foundation for Science (IFS), will hold an information afternoon in Wageningen, to present the IFS to overseas MSc and PhD students. IFS awards research grants and funding to scientists and researchers from developing countries in the fields of animal production, aquatic resources, crop science, food science, forestry & agroforesty, and natural products. Funding is available for a variety of activities from purchasing laboratory equipment to partial subsidy of tuition fees for PhD's etc. The information afternoon coincides with an IFS advisers' meeting held in Wageningen.
Richard Fuchs of the IFS sees it as an Important opportunity for IFS to inform overseas students about the possibility of applying for funding." MSc and PhD students from developing countries are invited to take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the organization, what kind of projects they support - and most importantly, how to apply for grants. The event will be held Friday March 17th at 15.00 hours in De Wereld.
