Youngest professor

Dolf Weijers becomes personal professor of the Biochemistry of Plant Development on 1 September.

Weijers studies the construction of stem cells in plants. He has been on the receiving end of two major grants, a VIDI grant and an ERC starting grant. Weijers, who turned 36 this month, will now be the youngest professor in Wageningen. The second youngest professor is German geo-information scientist Martin Herold (37). Herold was only 34 when we was appointed to a chair.
