World water

Did Prince Willem Alexander really crack a good joke or are they just laughing politely?

Ruud Gullit is laughing out loud but keeps his arms folded. Aalt Dijkhuizen doesn’t seem to get it – either that or he doesn’t think much of the royal sense of humour. The man in grey must be a nobody – he is matching his laughter to Gullit’s. As soon as Gullit stops laughing, his face will be straight in no time. Prince Willem Alexander and Ruud Gullit attended the World Water Day celebrations in Atlas on 22 March. The crown prince made a speech. He said, ‘The water problem is an agricultural problem. The world is going thirsty because we are hungry.’ No kidding.
