Painting the town neon

A full 400 litres of paint were used last week at Ceres's Neon Splash party on campus.

The party was organized in honour of the Wageningen student society’s 135th birthday. And it was a great success, says president Zeger Kievit. Beforehand the organizers were ‘a bit stressed out’ because of the bad weather, Zeger relates. ‘When it was still raining at five o’clock and there was not a soul in sight, the tension began to rise.’ But it all worked out in the end: by nine o’clock there were about 1500 people at the party area between Atlas and the Forum. They went at each other with bottle of neon-coloured paint and were sprayed from the podium with paint cannons.
