Little Angels

What? Choral performance Angels and Demons by The Dutch Students Chamber Choir Where? Arboretum Church in Wageningen When? Sunday 17 February, 14.15 Tickets? 6 euros, see nskk.nl/reserveren

Would you be quite interested in a classical concert but are you afraid of feeling out of place? Grab your chance on Sunday 17 February and come and hear Angels and Demons, sung by the Dutch Students Chamber Choir in the Arboretum church. Last autumn the best student singers were selected by audition – sadly there are no Wageningers among them. After an intensive rehearsal period – sometimes more than 10 hours a day – they are now touring Dutch university towns. As the name suggests, the concert is about good and evil. The story focuses first on the good – the ‘music of the angels’. But the devil gradually makes his presence felt too. The work sung is mainly modern, by composers such as Benjamin Britten and the conductor himself, Kurt Bikkembergs. True to tradition, they also sing new works such as an adaptation of Robbie Williams’ Angels. And a saxophonist will provide a virtuoso solo. Interested, but not sure what to expect?
